FIDING MY VISION – hecho en Oaxaca! – Mágico México
After clearing my vision
with Alex Webb and Rebecca Norris Webb’s workshop in Oaxaca 2018 ;)
I created my dummy “MAGICO MEXICO”.
WEBB先生たちのワークショップ（2018年オアハカ）で受けて、
自身のヴィジョンをクリアにした後に生まれたのが”MAGICO MEXICO”！
(2018年６月最初のversion完成、そのあと現在もupdate中。2019年に計画して（起らなかったけど！今年もステイホームな2020年、旅するのは難しい）次にメキシコに行ったら撮りたい写真、春分の日（もしくは秋分）が一枚、
その写真は後でポストカードとして、出版されている本にご希望で挟んでもらおうかな！ この本の魔法）

MAGICO MEXICOのダミー本を製作するにあたり、道しるべとなったのは
“Stick this on your wall ” that’s what Rebecca said to me.（When I got back my photos…) then she picked ONE out of 5, it was the photo of the window…She was collecting everyone(at workshop)’s photo on the desk!
and I received untold words like this…
(stick it on the wall then) “TALK WITH YOUR VISION”
レベッカが最初の５枚のうちから１枚（窓の写真）を選んで (workshop参加者全員の集めていて）初日の授業の最後にその写真を戻しながら
「この写真を壁に貼って、写真とお話ししてね」そう言っていたから
“Stick this on your wall ”
自分自身のVISION(写真）とお話するということをはじめて「壁に貼って」やってみた！
（それまではMAC上での作業で完結していて、
プリントアウトして壁に貼って初めて製作したのがMAGICO MEXICO）

It’s better to shoot another one hour after you might think “this enough”,
so I could push myself to visit to Ruin Yagul on the day

正確に、どういう英語で言っていたか記憶が曖昧になってしまった。
だけど、その言葉を覚えていて実行できたから
あの地震のあった日、ヤグール遺跡まで足をのばす事ができたと、今も思っている。
道しるべは
こういうきっかけとなる、教室での言葉たち。
On the first day at Centro Fotográfico Álvarez Bravo ,
Alex and Rebecca choosed 5 photos
(out of 30 prints I brought as homework,
these are photos from my 5 month journey from Mexico in 2012)
初日に、宿題として持参したこれまで主に２０１２年に５ヶ月メキシコを放浪して
撮影した中から選んだ３０枚ほどのプリントから、彼らが選んだのはこの５枚の写真たち。

これが先生が５枚の中から選んでいた一枚。生徒みんなの写真を一枚ずつ選んで並べて教室に置いていた。
これら、先生が選んだ写真を改めて見ると、コアな自分のヴィジョンがよりクリアに解った！
After seeing those photos (5 photos from Alex and Rebecca’s choice) ,
I realized true-self more clear than ever.
This is what I did for making dummy ( after workshop in Feb in Oaxaca, I started book-edit in May 2018 ( after I had HIMATSURI exhibition at Jyunpu elementary school in April as KG＋ )
I just sticked my photos on the wall and talked with them!
ブックダミーを作り始めたのは5月
（ワークショップの数ヶ月後、帰ってすぐにHIMATSURI show at KGでそれが終わってすぐ。）
先生達に３０枚のプリント宿題で持っていく時に、数千枚はきっと撮っていたであろう中から絞って、
100枚ぐらいプリントしてあった。
そこから再度ブックダミー用に選びなおし、ワークショップで撮影してきた新作、
そこからある程度並んできた時に、
さらに記憶の底から２０１２年に撮影していた写真たちを新たにデザインしながら追加して製作していった。
そしてSHOOTING の実習 （午前中がクラスルームでの授業、午後はフィールドでのシューティング実習）
翌日の前日に撮影した写真の中から自分でまず２５枚選んで教室で提出し（A:10枚 B:15枚)から
スライドショウの様に教室の壁に映写しながらみんなで見てみんなのVISIONを学び(Groop edittingの面白さ！）そののち、
数枚をそれぞれのためにALEXとREBECCAが選んでくれるという合同でのグループediting 直感編集の実習。
その数枚ずつを繰り返し四日分を、最終日にストーリーとして組み立てる演習がFINAL EDIT。
どういう風に直感で自身のイメージとお話しするのか？
選択する基準（というか彼らが何を見て、”いい”とピックしてくれた自分のイメージ（２５枚からの数枚）と、他のクラスメート達の作品のピックの仕方をを合同で見学しedittingを学ぶクラスルームでの実体験。
こう言った姿勢と眼差しを
彼らのワークショップで学んできたから、
MAGICO MEXICOを作り上げるきっかけをもらえたと思う。

This is what I was reading ( got when I was 15? On the road Jack kerouak , I brought with me in 2012 and I left somewhere ( I know where it was, I hope to get it back if its still there… hopefully!)
この本を持って２０１２年旅をしていた（確か買ったのは１５歳ぐらいのとき） どこかへ置いてきた（shared library）どこかは覚えているから、もしまだそこにあったら、取りに戻りたいな！いつか、ね！

The Earth saved me, so I want to save the Earth.
地球が私を助けてくれたから、私も地球を救いたい。
The road of ruinas Yagul told me ( There was earthquake during workshop in Oaxaca, but there was no shake at all on the road towards Yagul)
“ Okay, You have costal crack, so We will save you.
You can’t go home (can’t get on an airplane), if you receive damage from the earthquake now…
I know you love this road,
You’ve come here again and again(2000 2012 2018 …and )
Nostalgic Great Plains of your past life as a cave girl.”
ワークショップの期間中、オアハカで大きな地震があった。オアハカ市街地はとても揺れていたみたいだけど
（震源ははるか南車で５、６時間ほど）
あの道で写真を撮っていた私は全く、地震があったことさえ知らなかった（全然揺れていなかった！）
その時にいたあの道、ヤグール遺跡への道は私に言った。
「君は肋にヒビがはいっているね、僕たちが君を助けよう。
このまま地震のダメージを受けては、君は家に帰れなくなってしまうね。
家に帰れるよう、僕たちが守るよ。
君はこの道を愛しているのを知っている。何度も戻ってきてくれた。（2000、2012、2018、、、そして）
原っぱをかけまわり遊んでいた
原始人の少女の過去生の頃から。懐かしい、この道」
ヤグールからオアハカ市内のステイ先の友人の家に戻って初めて地震のことを知った。
その日に、突然、一気に視界がクリアになったかの様に感じた。
(地震があったのに、私がいたあの道では何も揺れなかったことにショックを受けて、神様と自然に感謝して泣いた）
そして一気にファイナルeditの原型を仕上げた。
地震の翌日が授業の最終日。
写真のセレクトは私が提出したときほぼそのまま、
最初は時系列に並んでいたのを（どう並べていいのかさっぱりアイディア湧かなかった）
先生たちに手伝ってもらって並べ替えてもらった。不思議が増した！（確か２枚抜いて、追加はしなかった。抜いた写真もこのほんの中には入っている。

I didn’t know that there was big earth quake until I got back home in Oaxaca city centro.
My friend told me, and I just cryed…!
I felt my vision somehow cleared by shock of earthquake (It didn’t happen where I was … on the road, but there was!)
I cried, and thank god and nature.
Then I finished my edit of Oaxaca magic ( choice was almost as I selected , few photos my teacheres didn’t use for final edit, I was arranging in chronological order, then Alex and Rebecca helped me to seaquence images in different order with their VISIONs)

When I was thinking making photobook after 5month journey in 2012,
I wanted to ask Mitsuo Katsui for DESIGN ing my book, but he is already in his 80s…
So I designed my “MAGICO MEXICO” by myself!
、、、このマヒコメヒコになる前の、、、、なにかの本(2012年のメキシコの写真とか、、、かたちのないなにか別の本！)
大阪万博のアートディレクターだったみたい！(これは知らなかった！)
この本に
本屋で出会った時は(2001年？いつかな？)
写真は好き(カメラ持ってる)
デザインとか、、、自分ではまだしてない！そんなかんじのこの本に本屋で出会った頃の私^_^(イラレとフォトショはもっと後、2004年に仕事で覚えた)

夢中で読んだ！！！
I came across this photo book in 2001…(or? I don’t remember … but it was around the time I started to take photos more seriously!)
I found this at book shop!
I was so absorbed by TIMELESS!!!
( I don’t know why I didn’t buy it when I found at the bookshop … so)
After I moved to Bristol (and got married), I tried to find the book and got it from Japan!:)
(地球放浪15年って帯に書いてた)
帯はもう無くしちゃったけど。
オーストラリアかどこかの新聞記事の写真。ドルが360円とかだった時代にNYで2年働いてお金を貯めたらしい。NYまでは船で行く時代に15年夫婦で旅をした彼ら。銀座のギャラリーで中川さんが個展をしていた時に、勝井さんがギャラリーで写真を観て気に入って本を作るって言って「本」になったらしい。勝井さんデザイン(中のあの「色」のかんじ！勝井さんぽいのかも！(、、、revelationsはもっと後に出たかな？それも思い出したけど)
Mr. and Mrs. Nakagawa was traveling together (15? years it said in Obi from newspaper in Australia?) on Earth! (70s! it was 360 yen = 1USD!) worked and saved up in NY for 2 years and got his Camera…( They didn’t fly (maybe no FLIGHT? kind of “AGE”? … they travel by SHIP!)
After long journey, Mr. Nakagawa had exhibition in Ginza, met Mr. Katsui! he was so into Mr. Nakagawa’s photos ! so! Photo book “TIMELESS” designed by Mitsuo Katsui was born!

Mr. Katsui is (really really Famous Designer! …(but when I was in my 20s I didn’t know much about him…his Design at MOMA(don’t know which one …) and He was art director for Osaka Expo! in 60s!

after I thought, Okay! I want to take photos! more:)!! (in Morocco, I met children in the dessert and they said “It’s tranquil here…relaxmax)

日本に住んでる時に本屋で見かけ立ち読み！
その後、結婚してブリストルに住んでる時にヤフオクでゲット！
わざわざ日本からイギリスブリストルまで送っていただいた！！！思い出の本！
(ネットに載せてるオンラインで読める私の写真集! 、、、ハッカーアタックされてるけど！、、、このninoとかなんかアタックされて「真っ黒」だったところが明るくされてる泣！！！ひどー！ハッカー！
あとオアハカの「窓」！70ミリの窓なのに！NIKONのレンズ！、、、そして「黒」はもっと真っ黒！(暗い部分が明るくハッカーにアタックされてる！！！)

(It was happen to be during my WS week in 2018! Oaxaca!)
I visited “The Village” in 2012 twice!
(…second time in 2012! I painted my own DRAGON! at “the store”(at the gate!) :)
I wanted to visit her again in 2018 and took portrait of HER!
(she is Americano, artista!
She, her baby boy in her stomach, and HER WORK!)
Next time I visit her and her family! I will see “Diablo boy”! (He was in her tummy in 2018!)
ASH Wednesday 、、、だから「悪魔」！らしい^_^(私キリスト教徒じゃないから調べたけど、、、)
あとアリブレヘスを観光土産として(作家さんもいる)作っている村だから(オアハカ市内近郊！いくつも村ある。)、それでああいう「lent」になったって読んだ気がする。
Because the Village is famous for its “Alebrijes” so LENT is like that!
